Some fun facts

  • I’m pretty sure that the bath gel I bought at the store at the beginning of the week is actually moisturizing lotion. On the other hand, my laundry was ridiculously soapy, I guess the detergent is concentrated and I didn’t adjust.
  • Thanks to the help of some nice German students, I found a great deal on a flight to Istanbul.
  • I purchased bread, jelly and something that resembles peanut butter at the market. I haven’t got hungry enough to try it yet. Also, the store refused to sell me the two apples I picked, I have no clue why.
  • Every light switch in the hallways and stairways of the dorms is on a timer. The lights stay on for about 45 seconds every time you push it. At first I found it very annoying to have to keep finding the light switch in the dark when they cut off, but I’m starting adjust and I don’t notice it as much.

Guten Abend! (good night)

2am Update: Our dorm is resting half way up a fairly big hill, with Vallendar and the Rhine in the valley below. At about 12:30, a group of five of us decided to climb to the top. We had to cut through some forested areas, and following an old pathway we made it to the summit. Our reward was a panoramic view of the German countryside, I took a couple pictures, but it was too dark.
